The Texas Instruments VCA2615EVM is an evaluation module (EVM) that provides users with a platform to evaluate the performance of the VCA2615, an audio precision variable gain amplifier. This versatile system is designed to interface with industry-standard test equipment to help bring you the very best in testing results for your audio systems.The board includes all of the main components necessary to evaluate the variable gain amplifier. It includes two XLR jacks and a rotary control potentiometer, an output level meter, an RS-232 port for PC interface and a S/PDIF input port for digital input. The board also comes with a comprehensive user manual that explains the various features of the VCA2615, the VCA2615EVM and how to operate the board. The manual provides descriptions of the different electrical components on the board, including the VCA2615 amplifier, the potentiometer and the S/PDIF input. Additionally, it provides schematics and diagrams to show how the board is wired up and to illustrate the correct connections to make when setting up the evaluation module. VCA2615EVM amplifiers use a closed-loop gain control system, allowing users to adjust the amount of gain applied to the signal going through the amplifier.
