VCA2618EVM Application Field and Working Principle
The VCA2618EVMEvaluation Modules (EVM) is a evaluation boards designed for the operational amplifiers (op amps). This EVM is an analog solution to digitally controlled gain. This product from Texas Instruments is a low cost op amp evaluation board that is used to digitally control an analog signal.The VCA2618EVM offers a simple and cost-effective way to evaluate the operation of the TI VCA2618 op amp. It allows designers to quickly and easily evaluate the performance of the amplifier in their specific application. The VCA2618EVM provides access to four of the amplifier’s features, enabling designers to easily observe and analyze application performance.The features of the VCA2618EVM include an adjustable gain range from 0 to 24dB, a digital soft-start, adjustable offset trim, and adjustable bandwidth. The board also includes two inputs (Vin and Rin) and two outputs (Vout and Rout). Additionally, the board is compatible with both single-supply and dual-supply configurations.The VCA2618EVMs have two ports, one for controlling the gain and one for controlling the bandwidth. The gain control port can be used to adjust the gain from 0 to 24dB. The RISET (gain control) terminal is used to adjust the gain of the amplifier while the VINPUT (bandwidth control) terminal is used to select the fixed bandwidth of the amplifier.The VCA2618EVM also includes two analog inputs and two analog outputs. The VIN input is used to apply an input signal to the amplifier. The VOUT output is used to measure the output of the amplifier. The Rin input is used to adjust the input resistance. The Rout output is used to measure the output resistance of the amplifier.The VCA2618EVM can also be used to measure the bandwidth and distortion of the amplifier. The bandwidth of the amplifier can be set using the knob on the top of the board. The distortion can be measured using the level-detector circuit on the board. The output of this circuit is fed to an oscilloscope and the resultant waveform is used to calculate the distortion of the amplifier.The VCA2618EVM is an ideal tool for designing, testing, and debugging op amps.
