TVS - Diodes are devices which are used to protect against voltage transients which occur in the electrical systems for protection of components from overvoltages. VESD05A2-03F-GS08 is a TVS diode device that is used in applications such as commercial, industrial, process control and consumer applications.
The VESD05A2-03F-GS08 provides ESD protection of up to 8kV human body model (HBM) and 3kV VCC clamping voltage capability. The device design offers overvoltage protection (EOS – electrostatic discharge) with squelch time and provides a discharge path for ESD current when ESD triggering voltage (VClamp) is exceeded.
The device features high leakage current in the non-clamping area which allows the device to provide ESD and EOS protection with minimal loading. Furthermore, the VESD05A2-03F-GS08 has very low clamping voltages when triggered, thereby ensuring protection even against very low ESD and EOS impulses. The device is also very fast in responding to ESD transients, which means it provides excellent protection against random events.
