Low-side and high-side switches provide accurate load control and improved load current balance between load path segments. Ultra-Low Power Disable (ULPD) signaling allows precise load control with minimal power consumption.The device also features powerful overvoltage protection (OVP) and overcurrent protection (OCP) functions. These functions are designed to protect the device against potentially damaging output voltage and current conditions. OVP will shut the load down if the output voltage reaches a predetermined threshold while OCP shuts the load down if the output current reaches a predetermined threshold.The VN808CM also features a reverse current protection (RCP) circuit. This feature helps to prevent the device from backfeeding power into a system when in shutdown mode. Additionally, a bridging protection (BIP) circuit is included to prevent the device from being damaged in the event of a short or reverse-short condition across its outputs.The VN808CM is also highly configurable, featuring pin-strapping configuration registers that allow the user to customize the voltage and current parameters of the device, as well as its various protection circuits. All pin-strapping registers are accessed through an I2C or SPI interface.
