The VNH5019A-E motor controller by STMicroelectronics is an intelligent motor driver IC for automotive, industrial, and consumer robotic applications that can control DC brushed motors. It is specifically designed to deliver high efficiency, low power consumption and improved durability for automotive, robotics, and industrial control applications.
VNH5019A-E consists of two full H-bridge circuits that are independently controlled and can provide up to a total of 2A peak current allows control of DC motors up to 36 V.The both bridges can be configured to either direct or PWM speed control to support a wide variety of applications. The shielded package also ensures superior noise immunity.

Working Principal of VNH5019A-E:

The VNH5019A-E motor controller is based on a microprocessor-controlled H-bridge driver. The microprocessor controls the H-bridge by switching between an on/off state and a low to high voltage level. The on/off state is typically used for driving the motor forward or reverse, while the low to high voltage level is used for setting the motor speed. The microprocessor can also accurately adjust the speed of the motor by controlling the voltage level between the high and low voltage levels.
