W25Q128BVEIG is an effective non-volatile flash memory device, developed by Winbond Electronics Corporation, offers a storage capacity of 8M bytes. It features the fast reading speed of up to 104M bytes/s, which is more than six times faster compared to conventional memory products. This device comprises 132Mb (16M x 8 bits) of total memory, divided into eight separately erasable sectors, as well as eight 4-Kbyte sectors, four 32-Kbyte sectors, sixty-four 64-Kbyte sectors and one 128-Kbyte sector. This flash memory is often used in applications requiring non-volatile memory and high-speed reading and writing, such as digital still cameras, PDAs, POI and digital audio players.
The W25Q128BVEIG is a CMOS Serial Flash Memory device with a specialized 8-pin pinout including four serial data lines (DQ0-DQ3), a serial clock pin (CLK), a chip enable (CE#) and a write enable (WE#) pin. It operates with a single power supply, with a voltage range of 2.7 V to 3.6 V. This device also features a high-speed Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) that supports clock rates of up to 104M bits/s. The W25Q128BVEIG is a standard Serial NOR Flash device with the same command set of conventional serial NOR Flash devices, like Serial Data Input and Output, Program, Block Erase and Write. It features an array of features and capabilities that make it uniquely suited for its applications. It also features a programmable SPI (QPI) I/O, an advanced write protection scheme, an on-chip ECC, an internal timer for Read/Write delay, a programmable address space for multi-chip programming, and a programmable power-down mode. It is also capable of addressing a total of up to 1.040G-bits or 131M-bytes of memory.
The W25Q128BVEIG also features a powerful host interface, which allows the user to order, lock, program, erase, and even reset the device. These features are enabled through the use of an integrated control command set, which provides a host interface that is more efficient than the more traditional Command Bit Sequencing (CBS). The W25Q128BVEIG also features a programmable Power Down mode, which allows the user to reduce power consumption during inactive periods. Additionally, the device features an exceptionally wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
