Working Principle

The W78L052A24PL works on the von Neumann architecture which is a type of computer architecture based on the stored program concept. It consists of a single memory which holds both program instructions as well as data as opposed to two separate memories. It is also a Harvard architecture which means that the program and data memories can operate independently.The microcontroller is built on a silicon substrate and consists of four main components: CPU core, memory, I/O, and timer/counter. The CPU core is based on the 8051 instruction set and is clocked at 24MHz. Memory consists of 128KB internal ROM and 2KB RAM. The I/O ports are configurable and can support a variety of peripherals like UART, I2C and SPI. The timer/counter is used for timekeeping, counting and generating clock signals.The W78L052A24PL works by executing instructions fetched from the program ROM by the CPU. The instructions, together with the data, are stored in memory. The instructions, as they are fetched and executed, tell the microcontroller to perform different tasks. For example, they could instruct the microcontroller to read data from a peripheral, process this data, and then write the results in memory. The I/O ports are configured to allow data to be exchanged between the microcontroller and different peripherals. The timer/counter is used for timing and counting tasks.
