WLG2-LDAS Application field and Working principle
The WLG2-LDAS (Long-Distance Action Switches) is a class of snap action, limit switches designed primarily to provide precise and reliable switching of line voltage (up to 250V) loads and circuits. These switches are designed to be used in hazardous, harsh, or damp environments.
The WLG2-LPAS has a wide range of application fields, mainly focusing on process control systems and data acquisition. Process control systems apply these switches to monitor, control and regulate various process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow, and level. Data acquisition is another application field of WLG2-LPAS, where the switches are used to detect both analog and digital process signals and transmit them for further analysis.
Working Principle
The WLG2-LDAS snap action, limit switches are based on the principle of electro-mechanical operation. It is basically an electric circuit, which consists of two parts: an actuator and a switch. The actuator is composed of a plunger and a frame. When the plunger is pushed inward or pulled outward, it actuates the switch that opens or closes the electric circuit. Depending on its design, the WLG2-LDAS can stay in its position regardless of the direction of the applied force, allowing multiple On–Off operations.
When the switch is open, the electric current is interrupted, and the device performs its programmed sequence. The switch can then be actuated by either push or pull force. When the actuator is pushed in, the plunger within the switch compresses a spring, which is released when the plunger is released, allowing the plunger to reset to its original position. In contrast, when the actuator is pulled, the plunger is pulled outward, compressed a spring, and then released when it reaches the end.
