The XCKU115-2FLV A1517I is an Embedded Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), designed to make digital circuit design more flexible and programmable. This kind of FPGA is designed to make high-speed, low-power and cost-effective performance, adapted to the needs of high performance and low-power(especially for high-power applications).Features of the XCKU115-2FLVA1517I includes 216000 logic cells, 2200 DSP slices, 5-25G Ethernet cores, 5.4Mb of L2 cache, up to 24 Hard-IP cores and up to 49x hard MACs.The XCKU115-2FLVA1517I Application Field is intended to satisfy the needs of varied applications including wireless infrastructure, 5G base station, storage acceleration, datacenter, voice recognition, autonomous driving and AI(artificial intelligence) IoT.To explore the working principle of this Embedded FPGA, it is important to understand the components and systems of the device. It consists of several components that interact with each other in order to carry out its purpose. The components are listed as follow:• Configurable Logic Blocks (CLBs): CLBs are the main computing resources of FPGAs and are composed of combinational logic, sequential logic and programmable interconnect.• Inter-Connect Matrix: It is a programmable linking cell and is used to connect logic components and inter-CLB.• Programmable Input/Output (I/O) Blocks: I/O Blocks provide a connection against external environment.• Clock Circuits: Clock Circuits generate internal high speed clocks for FPGA computing processes.• Memory Blocks: These memory blocks include four instances of embedded memory blocks that are from 0.35Mb to 8Mb in size and two physical independent ports.• Hard IP Core: These Hard IP Cores provide high performance for specific design, for example, high speed interface.• Boot ROM: Boot ROM is a ROM that can be used to download program codes to FPGA.• Configuration Memory: Configuration memory stores FPGA application configuration settings.The XCKU115-2FLVA1517I has several power domains that cooperates to provide sufficient power to different types of digital processes. The first is the core digital power, which is shared by the logic blocks, interconnection and the hard core digital functions. The second is the I/O Power, which provides a low voltage environment for I/O devices, such as ethernet, PCIe and DDR3 CLK. The third is the memories which mainly supplies power to the internal memories and on-chip memories. And the last one is the power for special functions, like low power and low leakage process, DSP and etc. The XCKU115-2FLVA1517I also supports onboard configuration and system monitoring to realize easy programming. It can also be configured by external JTAG/SPI controller. During configuration, the configuration data is written into the configuration memory and then the device can be reconfigured.
