The XR8052ASO8 is a single-channel rail-to-rail input/output CMOS instrumentation amplifier (INAMP) from Exar Corporation. Working Principle

The XR8052ASO8 is a two-in, two-out instrumentation amplifier (INAMP) with a single-ended output. The amplifier consists of two programmable gain stages, a high-pass filter, a low-pass filter, input and output buffers and gain select option. Each gain stage consists of an inverting and a non-inverting input buffer, a pair of output buffers, and gain programming capacitors. The gain of each gain stage can be programmed using external capacitors. Each stage has a gain range of between 1 and 200 V/V. The input and output buffers have rail-to-rail performance and allow biasing of each stage 150 mV below the power supply rails. The high-pass and low-pass filters are designed to reject AC signals, enabling accurate measurements over long-term changes in the signal. The additional power-down control allows the XR8052ASO8 to be shut off when not in use. The device also features a diagnostic self-test function which allows for precise testing and diagnostics of the system.
