Z16C3010ASC is an integrated chip which is used to communicate between two data processing entities or modules. It is an interface controller which is designed to bridge application systems with each other. It is designed to interpret the protocols which exist on the two sides of the entites by providing the needed protocol translation in order to secure the interoperation. In addition, it provides buffering and bus drive in order to match the speed mismatch between the various entities.

The Z16C3010ASC is designed to perform the same tasks of other stand-alone customized interface controller chips, with extra features and flexibility. It has the following basic functions:
