The Z16C3220FSC is a digital signal controller that–depending on the model–manages up to 32 input/output (I/O) pins. It is a single-package controller are designed to be used in a wide range of low and medium-end control applications. It features a controller that acts as a bridge between an application processor and multiple sensors, or between a microcontroller and various types of user interfaces. The Z16C3220FSC combines the power of an ASIC and the flexibility of an FPGA with the energy-efficiency of an ARM Cortex-M4 processor.The main features of the Z16C3220FSC include 8-bit or 16-bit wide memory for storage of configuration and Status registers, up to 32 programmable I/O pins, programmable asynchronous and synchronous counters, 16-bit timer/oscillator, programmable interrupts, and an on-chip debug unit.
