The ZL50021GAG2 is an RFIC transceiver designed for applications in the 900 MHz ISM-band and utilizing Gaussian Frequency Shift Keying. It offers a range of features including low power operation, low current consumption, an on-chip temperature sensor, and a built-inantenna protection circuit. It is suitable for short-range, low-data-rate applications such as wireless automatic meter reading, industrial control systems and point-to-point link.
The ZL50021GAG2 transceiver is implemented with a GaAs heterojunction bipolar transistor process to achieve high linearity, ruggedness and temperature stability. The design of the transmitter and receiver circuits on the chip ensures low current consumption, low drain voltage and wide dynamic range. The device also features a built-in temperature sensor, antenna protection circuit and low supply current.
The ZL50021GAG2 transceiver utilizes an Automatic Frequency Control (AFC) to maintain stable communication between the transmitter and receiver. The AFC checks the incoming signal frequency by comparing it to a reference frequency stored in memory. The difference between the reference frequency and the incoming signal frequency is then used to adjust the operating frequency of the transceiver so that communication is maintained at the necessary frequency.
