ZL6105ALAFT application field and working principle
The ZL6105ALAFT family of DC-DC switching converter controllers is ideal for a wide range of off-line and battery-powered applications. The advanced technology used in this device enables designers to create host/peripheral, dual-rail and single-rail systems, as well as steady-state and peak-current regulation. This device provides an ultra-low start-up current, light-load efficiency and very low standby power.
Application Field of ZL6105ALAFT:
The ZL6105ALAFT is suitable for the application field such as the output voltage of non-isolated DC/DC converters, including lighting, display, POS, and charger applications. This device is also suitable for wide range input voltage and output voltage. Additionally, the device also adopts a hysteretically-controlled constant on time operation structure which is optimized for low EMIs. Furthermore, the device also provides integrated protection functions such as over-voltage protection, over-current protection, short-circuit protection and over-temperature protection.
Working Principle of ZL6105ALAFT:
The ZL6105ALAFT works by using a two-level control switching scheme. The two-level scheme gives the advantage of maximum efficiency when working at a wide range of load current levels. When a higher load current demand is needed, the device switches to a higher voltage level and then increase a corresponding current level and output voltage. Meanwhile, at the lower current and voltage levels, the device switches to a lower level, thereby providing a lower loss and improved light load efficiency. The ZL6105ALAFT control circuit works by monitoring the output voltage and then controls the device turn-on and turn-off time to maintain the desired output voltage. The device monitors the output voltage level and senses the over-voltage protection level. When the output voltage exceeds the overvoltage protection level, the device turns off the output, thus preventing the output voltage from reaching overvoltage levels. Furthermore, the device also provides integrated soft-start, over-current protection, short-circuit protection, and over-temperature protection. With the integrated power saving mode, the device can reduce the power consumption during light load conditions, thereby improving the overall efficiency of the system.
