ATMEGA165P-16AN is an advanced 8-bit microcontroller from Atmel, powered by an AVR core, providing large memory and peripheral options for a host of applications. This microcontroller is widely used in Industry 4.0, consumer electronics, medical systems, automotive applications, and others.
The ATMEGA165P-16AN is a 32-bit flexible microcontroller which supports a wide range of user applications and is designed for embedded applications. It also supports a broad range of popular external peripherals and has various built-in interactive functions, including power management and advanced system control. The microcontroller provides multiple interfaces, including DO-BI interface, Digital Video Interface (DVI), I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet, and more. The processor operates at a maximum frequency of 16MIPS (16 million instructions per second) and is equipped with a built-in Data Vitaliser which helps reduce power consumption by another 50% (compared to its slower predecessor).
The ATMEGA165P-16AN also supports both flash memory and EEPROM memory, allowing a user to code functions, applications, drivers and programs into the EEPROM directly, making programming and update cycles easier. The microcontroller contains an extensive range of built-in peripherals and control components, including: Serial Interface, Digital I/O Port, Series Timers, Temperature Sensor, Controller Clock, Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC), Parity Detection Unit, Real-Time Clock (RTC) and so on.
It also provides an advanced watchdog system with window comparator, which can help protect the user code and system from instability, even if power-rail transients occur. The watchdog window comparator can also be set to trigger an interrupt when the temperature or voltage of the device reaches unsafe levels, giving the user early notification and the opportunity to shut off the system before any major damage can occur.
The ATMEGA165P-16AN is typically used in applications where small size, low power consumption and robust features are required.
