The SI5317B-C-GM is a high-precision, programmable, low-power Clock/Timing solution developed by Silicon Labs. It is a multi-output Clock Generator and Phase Locked Loop (PLL) intended for synchronization and timing network applications. This device integrates an internal VCO and advanced power management technologies to provide up to eight output frequencies, with any frequency output supported up to 198MHz. The SI5317B-C-GM is ideal for use in applications where the phase noise, jitter and frequency accuracy needs to be tightlyensured, such as 4K and 8K video standards, data networks, and clock distribution.
The SI5317B-C-GM applies to applications where small size and low power requirements in addition to small package size are also important factors. Its small package size (3mm x 5mm) and low power consumption (typical 7mA@3.3V) make this device ideal for cost sensitive and space-constrained applications that still require reliable, high-precision clock signals.
The clock generator and PLL work in tandem to produce the necessary output frequencies from a single frequency reference source. The PLL loop locks and filters the reference clock to create a highly accurate frequency with low jitter and reduced harmonic distortion. The device also offers low noise output clocks and a high-speed output for data transmission.
It is capable of generating a variety of outputs with a wide range of frequencies, from as low as frequency to as high as 198MHz. The SI5317B-C-GM supports programmable clock outputs, and it automatically compensates for input voltage, frequency, and temperature variations.
The SI5317B-C-GM also provides an integrated spread spectrum clock generator, which helps precisely and cost-effectively reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) and is suitable for use in applications with high electrical noise environments.
