The Silicon Labs SI5347D-B-GM is a highly integrated Clock Generator IC that combines low jitter performance and excellent output jitter suppression with powerful programmability. It is designed for a variety of clock and timing applications, including networking, communications, industrial and military systems. With multiple mapping modes for single and multi-input clock tree designs, the SI5347D-B-GM is a versatile solution for a wide range of applications. Additionally, the device offers a wide supply voltage range, low current consumption, and an integrated Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) for efficient frequency synthesis.
The SI5347D-B-GM offers a host of features and capabilities to address the complex requirements of clock and timing applications. The device includes an integrated PLL with advanced loop bandwidth control, enabling the user to select an optimized loop bandwidth for each clock output. The differential and single-ended outputs can be configured independently for optimal timing performance of the application. The device also features both SR and SI Burst modes for producing variable frequency clocks to reduce the power consumption of the system.
The SI5347D-B-GM supports multiple output formats such as LVPECL, LVCMOS, LVDS, HCSL and SSTL, enabling it to be used with a wide range of system architectures. The device is programmable over a wide frequency range, from 8 kHz to 2.048 GHz. An integrated Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) is included for tiny clock buffers, adding increased accuracy and stability to the outputs. Additionally, the device includes an integrated spread-spectrum clock generator enabling automated power consumption reduction in electromagnetic-sensitive applications.
The SI5347D-B-GM supports many industry-standard input formats, including LVCMOS, HCSL and LVDS. Input jitter tolerance is improved by the device’s integrated digital filter and clock-deglitcher stages. These digital filtering functions enable robust system performance in the presence of high input-frequency jitter and/or cycle slipping. The device can also be configured with multiple mapping modes for single or chained clock designs.
The SI5347D-B-GM features a wide array of features for improved system-level timing performance, including an integrated Intersymbol Interference (ISI) cancellation circuit to ensure precise intersymbol jitter performance across multiple clock outputs. Additionally, the device provides very high jitter attenuation of random and deterministic jitter on its outputs. The device also features an integrated Clock Quality Monitor (CQM) circuit for improved clock reliability and diagnostic accuracy.
The SI5347D-B-GM provides an integrated jitter attenuator and jitter reference generator, ensuring that jitter on the outputs is below the industry-standard jitter specifications. The device also includes an integrated temperature sensor to accurately monitor the temperature of the die and guard against thermal shock. Additionally, the device supports widely used industry-standard serial programming interfaces such as I2C, SPI and SMBus.
