The RJ45 connector is a type of information socket (ie, communication terminal) connector in the wiring system, and the connector is composed of a plug (connector, crystal head) and a socket (module). RJ is the abbreviation of Registered Jack.

In the FCC (Federal Communications Commission Standards and Regulations), RJ is the interface that describes the public telecommunications network. The RJ45 connector of the computer network is a common name for the standard 8-bit modular interface.

The RJ45 connector consists of a plug and a socket. A connector consisting of these two components is connected between the wires to achieve electrical continuity of the wires. At the heart of the RJ45 connector module is a modular jack. Gold-plated wire or socket holes maintain a stable and reliable electrical connection to the modular socket shrapnel. Due to the friction between the shrapnel and the jack, the electrical contact is further enhanced as the plug is inserted.

The main body of the RJ45 connector jack is designed with an integral locking mechanism so that when the modular plug is inserted, the maximum pull strength can be produced outside the interface of the plug and the jack. The wiring module on the RJ45 connector module is connected to the twisted pair through a "U" shaped terminal slot, and the locking spring can be used to fix the RJ45 connector module on an information exit device such as a panel.

The RJ45 plug, also known as the RJ45 Modular Plug, is used for termination of data cables to enable connection and change of equipment and patch panel modules. The RJ45 crystal head is required to have good conduction performance; it meets the Category 5 transmission standard and conforms to the T568A and T568B line sequences; it has the functions of preventing looseness, insertion and removal, and self-locking. The RJ45 plug is a standard connector in copper cabling that together with the jack (RJ45 module) form a complete connector unit. A connector consisting of these two components is connected between the wires to achieve electrical continuity of the wires.

RJ45 performance indicators also include attenuation, near-end crosstalk, insertion loss, return loss and far-end crosstalk.

RJ45 performance technical description: contact resistance is 2.5mΩ, insulation resistance is 1000mΩ, anti-electricity is DC1000V (AC700V), no breakdown and arcing phenomenon in one minute, card connection surface gold plating or silver plating, wiring diameter It is 0.4mm~0.6mm, the plug and socket can be repeatedly inserted and removed no less than 750 times, and the 8-wire contact pin is gold-plated 509 (inch).

Among these performance requirements, crosstalk is an important factor in design. In order to make the entire link have better transmission performance, crosstalk cancellation technology is often used in the socket. The crosstalk cancellation technology can generate the same interference as the interference introduced from the plug. Crosstalk with opposite polarity to cancel crosstalk. If the crosstalk introduced by the modular plug is indicated by "++++", the opposite crosstalk produced by the socket is indicated by "----". When the two crosstalk signals are equal in magnitude and opposite in polarity, the total coupled crosstalk interference signal has a magnitude of zero.
