AMD RS780 chipset motherboard architecture.
This article writes about the AMD RS780 chipset motherboard architecture.
The AMD RS780 chipset motherboard architecture is shown in figure 1.
Figure 1 AMD RS780 chipset motherboard architecture diagram.
The management and support functions of the AMD RS780 chipset motherboard are as follows.
①The AMD RS780 chip uses AM2's CPU, to manage 4 DDR2 memory by CPU and supports dual channels.
②The CPU and the RS780 North Bridge chip are connected by the HT bus, and HT uses a point-to-point transport protocol to increase the transmission rate.
③The RS780 comes with an integrated video card that supports the VGA analog and DVI digital signal video output interfaces.
④RS780 manages PCI-E X16 card plug-in, PCI-EXI slot, Nic chip, 1394 chip through PCI-E bus.
⑤The RS780 chipset uses the SB700 South Bridge chip, which manages the USB interface, sound card chip, SATA interface, PCI slot, and BIOS chip.
⑥SB700 manages 10 chips through the LPC bus.
⑦IO chips manage input / output interfaces such as floppy drives, keyboards, mice, etc.
