1. Network card chip (see Fig.1) is responsible for network data decoding, network signal reception and transmission. The 25MHz crystal is usually next to the network card chip. Network card chip damage directly leads to the lack of access to the Internet. In actual maintenance, most of the damage of the network card chip is caused by lightning strike.

2. Sound card chip

Sound card chip (see figure 2) is responsible for audio signal decoding, restore sound. Usually the sound from the speaker and the sound transmitted by the microphone are processed by the sound card chip. Sound card chip is divided into AC97 and HD bus. The usage of ALC series produced by RTM Company is more, such as ALC662, ALC655, ALC888, etc.

3. BIOS chip

BIOS full name is Basic Input Output System, Chinese means basic input / output system. The BIOS chip is a ROM chip integrated on the mainboard, which saves the basic input / output program and the self-test program of the system. It is responsible for initializing and testing the hardware of the system and ensuring that the system works properly.

The BIOS chips in the motherboard come in three shapes: 32-pin PLCC, 8-pin SOP, 8-pin DIP, as shown in figure 3.

4. Power management chip is in the main board, CPU power supply management chip is called power management chip. It negatively controls the MOS tube to lower the 12V voltage to get the working voltage required by CPU, after the power supply is normal,it sends out a good signal to inform the bridge that the CPU working voltage is normal.
