What are the common interfaces on the motherboard?

    1. CPU interface

Here CPU sockets are mainly divided into Intel and AMD. Students must choose a motherboard that matches the number of pins or contacts of this CPU, otherwise they will not be inserted.

    2. Memory module interface

The memory module has evolved from a 32-generation memory to DDR, now to DDR3, DDR4 through several generations, so now mainstream motherboards generally use DDR3 or DDR4, and the memory module slots on the motherboard are divided into SIMM, DIMM and RIMM. Among them, DIMM (dual inline memory module) is the mainstream slot, so most of the memory modules used now can be inserted into the DIMM slot. Xiaobai only needs to be sure that this slot is inserted. But the premise is that you need to find a good DDR3 or DDR4 model slot on the motherboard, otherwise the chuck and the memory pins will not be inserted.

    3. Hard disk interface

The interface of the hard disk has also been updated. Most of them were originally IDE slots, but now the mainstream one is the SATA interface. Among them, the fastest speed of the SATA3 interface is 600M/s. As long as we find this SATA interface, the corresponding one should be connected to the hard disk. Remember to also provide power to the hard disk. Of course, there are other hard disk interfaces such as M.2 interface for SSD hard drives (solid-state hard drives).

    4. Graphics card interface

There are many types of graphics card interfaces on the computer, including the previous ISA interface, AGP interface, and the more commonly used PCI-e slots. These interfaces are plugged into the motherboard, but your graphics card should also be connected to your display, because the interfaces used when the display is connected are VGA, DVI, HDMI. VGA is a commonly used interface before. If some computers are integrated graphics cards, you can directly connect the VGA on the motherboard to the monitor. The graphics card uses DVI, sometimes in order to compatible conversion, there will be a DVI to VGA interface. HDMI is a high-definition multimedia interface.

    5. Display interface

As mentioned earlier, the graphics card must be connected to the monitor. Some motherboards are integrated with a graphics card, and the monitor interface can be directly connected to the motherboard. I have already said that the interfaces are VGA, DVI, HDMI. Just connect according to the corresponding interface.

    6, I/O interface

There are input/output ports on the motherboard. There are many ports here. There is a PS/2 interface here, which is an old mouse and keyboard interface, and a USB interface. Now most of the mouse and keyboard use a USB interface. There are also VGA, DVI, HDMI interfaces I mentioned earlier. There is also a network cable interface (RJ-45). Finally, there is a channel audio interface. There are some motherboards with 6 interfaces and some with only 3. In this, we usually use two, one is green for audio output, even with speakers or headphones, and the other blue is for audio input. Of course, this should be combined with your motherboard instructions.
