How to use the OTC700 series automobile digital multimeter to text the rotation speed and duty?

Last Update Time: 2019-04-24 11:39:47

1.When using the rotational speed test mode, the method of selecting the blocking position and connecting the detecting circuit is correctly selected.

When using the OTC700 series automobile digital multimeter to test the speed (RPM), select the specific operation method of the blocking and connecting the detecting circuit as follows.

1) The way of selecting the blocking position

Number of engine strokes

Speed RPM1 detection range.   (t/min)

Number of engine strokes

Speed RPM2 detection   range.  (r/min

2 or Dixie engine

30 ~ 9000

4

60-12000

2) Method of connecting detection lines.

One end of the black test wire of the multimeter is inserted into the COM port of the multimeter, and the other end is connected with the negative pole or iron of the circuit being tested; the other end of the red test wire is inserted into the COM port of the multimeter. By inserting the "V" port of the multimeter and connecting the other end to the negative pole of the ignition coil, the rotation speed can be measured.

2. When using the duty ratio test model, properly select the method of blocking and connecting to detect the line path.

When using the OTC700 series digital multimeter to test the duty cycle (Duty), select the specific operation methods for blocking and connecting detection lines as follows.

1)Select the method of blocking.

(1)  When using the OTC700 Series digital multimeter to test the duty cycle (Duty), there are two representations of the percentage (%) and absolute value MS, and the different range representations of these two representations are shown in Table 1.

Absolute value MS

(2)  First press the mode button to select the duty cycle (Duty) mode, and then use the up and down arrow buttons to select the two representations.

2)    Methods of connecting detection lines.

Plug one end of the black test wire of the multimeter into the COM port of the multimeter, and the other end is connected to the negative pole (or negative electrode of the battery) of the detected circuit or to the tap iron; After one end of the red test wire is plugged into the "V" port of the multimeter, and the other end is connected to the signal circuit, duty cycle measurements can be made.
