Oscilloscope basical principle

The multimeter is a simplified oscilloscope, which is an effective tool for observing digital signals.

The principle of an oscilloscope is simply to show the voltage of a signal at different times. Because the oscilloscope will sample the signal multiple times within 1 s, each sampling will get a voltage corresponding to the sampling time. Then, the oscilloscope takes horizontal direction as the time axis and vertical direction as the voltage axis on its display screen to show all the sampled data sequentially, so that the concrete waveform of the measured signal can be obtained.

Therefore, the use of oscilloscopes is, in fact, to reasonably adjust the display effect of signal waveforms within the scope of the oscilloscope's capabilities in order to observe the specific waveforms of the signals.

When the waveform is incorrect, it indicates that the signal is not normal and can be used to determine the existence of a failure point. When the waveform is correct, the signal is normal, and it can be judged that the signal does not have a point of failure. The process of judging any signal level is based on the above two principles.

AC power 220V frequency is 50Hz. The oscillation frequency of other excitation sources in ATX power supply is generally less than that of 100khz. This is not true for the mainstream oscilloscope.
