The Intel Z77 chipset motherboard architecture is shown in figure 1.

The management and support functions of the Intel Z77 chipset motherboard are as follows.
①The CPU socket features 1155-pin support for Intel 13, 15, 17 CPU, CPU internal integrated video card controllers and memory controllers for up to 1600MHz memory.
②The CPU and PCH are the same as the previous two chipsets, using the FDI bus to transmit video information and the DMI bus to transmit the control signal.
③PCH supports three video interfaces: VGA analog signal, DVI digital signal and HDMI HD multimedia.
④PCH manages Nic chips and PCI-EX1 slots through the PCI-E bus and is no longer supported for PCI slots.
⑤PCH manages USB 2.0 interface, USB3.0 interface, SATA hard disk interface, SPIBIOS, sound card chip.
⑥PCH manages the IO chip through the LPC bus.
⑦IO chip manages keyboard, mouse, serial port, parallel port and each hardware temperature monitor.
