Discolourable light emitting diodes can change the color of light, so they can be used for different state indications.

The internal structure and working principle  of the discoloration LEDs.

1. Structure:

Two kinds of luminous color (usually red and green) tube core negative electrode is connected together, in 3 pipe feet, the left and right sides of the tube are red and green LED positive pole, and the middle pipe is the common negative pole.

2.Working principle:

when the working voltage is 1 positive and 2 negative, the current Ia passes through VD to make it red. When the working voltage is 2 minus 3, the current 1 passes through VD2 to make it green. If two LED voltage is added at the same time, the tube will emit complex light (Cheng Guang), for example, the ratio of 1a to I is different. The.LED luminescence color is proportional to the red one.

Detect the discoloration LEDs

A multimeter is placed in the RX10k2 block, and the two pin is connected. When the needle is swinging and having any light, the red pen is connected to a common electrode.

(1) the red pen is connected to the common electrode, the black pen is replaced by an electrode, and the tube is emitting red light, and the black watch is connected to the red (R).

(2) if the tube sends out green light, the black watch is connected to green (G).

(3) the black pen is connected to red (R) and green (G) at the same time, and the tube should emit orange compound light.

During the above detection process, if a light-emitting diode is not lighted, it indicates that it is damaged. Such tubes can no longer be used as discolourable light emitting diodes. However, the undamaged LED can be used as a monochromatic light emitting diode.
