What are the parameters of power transformer?

( 1 ) Working frequency

Transformer core loss has a great relationship with frequency, so it should be designed and used according to the frequency, this frequency is called the operating frequency.

( 2 ) Under specified frequency and voltage, the rated power can work for a long time without exceeding the output power of the specified temperature rise.

( 3 ) The rated voltage refers to the voltage allowed on the coil of the transformer, which shall not be greater than the specified value.

( 4 ) Voltage ratio

1 ) Transformer ratio. If the loss of the core and the coil is ignored, the following relationships are :U1 / U2 = N1 / N2 = k ), k is called the voltage ratio.

2 ) The relationship between transformer current and voltage. If the transformer does not consider the principle of transformer loss, there is U1 : / U2 = I2 / I1 = k

3 ) The impedance transformation relationship of the transformer. The primary side impedance of the transformer is Z1, and the secondary side load resistance is Z2.

According to Ohm's law, Z1/ Z2 = ( U1 / U 2 ) 2 = h2 can be derived, the transformer can be used as an impedance transformer.

( 5 ) The efficiency of a transformer is the percentage of the secondary side power P2 and the primary side power P. Usually the greater the rated power of the transformer, the higher the efficiency.

The loss of the transformer mainly includes the following two aspects :

1 ) Copper loss : most of the transformer coil is made of copper wire, because there is resistance in the wire, so when you pass the current, you will have a fever, energy consumption, so that the efficiency of the transformer is reduced.

2 ) Iron loss : mainly from hysteresis loss and flow loss, in order to reduce the hysteresis loss, the transformer core usually adopts high permeability ( easy magnetization ) and the hysteresis is small soft magnetic materials, such as silicon steel, magnetic ceramics and permalloy. In order to reduce the eddy current loss, the core is usually cut into thin slices perpendicular to the plane of the magnetic force line to insulate each other and cut off the vortex. The core is generally made of silicon steel sheets with a thickness of about 0.35 mm. In addition to copper loss and iron loss, there is leakage magnetic loss. Due to the influence of hysteresis and eddy current, these losses increase with the increase of frequency.

( 6 ) When the secondary side of the no-load current transformer is open, there is still a certain current on the primary side, which is called no-load current. No-load current consists of magnetizing current ( generating magnetic flux ) and iron loss current ( caused by core loss ). For 50 Hz power transformer, the no-load current is basically equal to the magnetizing current.

( 7 ) Insulation resistance represents the insulation performance between the coils of the transformer and between the coils and the core. The insulation resistance is related to the performance, temperature and humidity of the insulation material used.
