Working Principle

The electric field puts the positive charges on the aluminum surface and the electrons are stored in the oxide layer like a sandwich. This configuration creates a dielectric capacitance between the two electrodes. As the oxidation layer is very thin, the capacitance is much higher than conventional capacitors. This high capacitance offers greater energy storage, allowing the capacitor to hold more charge and allowing it to perform more efficiently in its applications.
