The 1N4001GP-M3/54, or 1N4001GP, is a type of surface mounted silicon rectifier diodes. It is a single-phase rectifier, which means that it has the capability of converting alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). The reason for using this type of rectifier is for it’s unique design that provides an exceptionally low reverse leakage current and improved heat dissipation. The 1N4001GP also has low forward voltage drop, so it can be used in battery-powered devices, where maximum power transfer is not a priority.

The 1N4001GP-M3/54 is a part of the series of 1N400xGP general-purpose rectifier diodes. The 1N4001GP has a nominal DC blocking voltage of 50V and a maximum average forward current rating of 0.54A. It also has a maximum peak reverse voltage of 50V, maximum peak reverse current of 9.2mA, and a maximum RMS forward current of 0.3A.
