1N5224B-TR – Applications & Working Principle

Working Principle

In the figure below, the 1N5224B-TR is connected in Reverse Bias Mode in order to produce a regulated output above the breakdown voltage. The Zener force (V_Z) provides a path for current across it. At higher values of load current, Id, the current is limited by R_s, whereas at lower values of Id, the current is limited by the internal resistance of diode, or R_d.
