Working Principle
The 1N5347AE3/TR13 diode is a single Zener diode used for voltage regulation and over-voltage protection. When the reverse voltage is lower than the Zener voltage, a low impedance path is established from anode to cathode and serves as a reverse protection. When the reverse voltage is higher than the Zener voltage, the Zener diode will protect the circuit from over-voltage.
In its forward-biased state, the diode is in its linear region, meaning that the forward voltage across the diode is proportional to the forward current. It also has a breakdown voltage. When the reverse voltage exceeds the Zener breakdown voltage, it will conduct current in reverse bias and the reverse current will remain nearly constant regardless of the reverse voltage beyond the breakdown voltage.
The 1N5347AE3/TR13 diode operates within the temperature range of -55°C to +150°C, the revers voltage range of 6.8V to 200V, and the power dissipation up to 3W. Its non-repetitive peak pulse power can reach 8W.
