The working principle of 1N5368BE3/TR13 is based on the PN junction of the diode. It is designed to have a specific Reverse Breakdown Voltage. When the PN junction is reversed connected, the voltage of the PN junction will gradually increase to the RBV, and then the current will dramatically increase in a very short period. The current is known as the Reverse Breakdown Current.The electric conduction of the 1N5368BE3/TR13 takes place when the applied voltage across its terminals reaches the Reverse Breakdown Voltage (RBV)of 6.2V. The RBV is the point where the electric current surpasses the Breakdown Current. This current is known as the Zener current. It is limited only by the value of the resistor connected in series.
