Working Principle

The 1N6079US diode works on the principle of junction capacitance rectification. It consists of a P-type region sandwiched between N-type regions, creating a bridge type diode structure. When an AC voltage is applied to the diode, the current flow alternates between positive and negative, thus allowing the current to flow in one direction with the aid of the voltage alternation.
