Gas Discharge Tube Arresters (GDT) are used increasingly throughout many industries to protect circuit boards and other components from power system disturbances such as spikes, swells, and other transient overvoltages. GDTs, also known as Surge Protective Devices (SPDs) or Transient Voltage Surge Suppressors (TVSS), are designed to divert or “clamp” a voltage surge to a safe level and ensure that the protected components remain undamaged.
