The 2EZ110D10/TR12 is a silicon planar Zener diode with a nominal Zener voltage of 10 volts. It is constructed with a PN junction diode, with the junction of the anode and the cathode forming the Zener region. This region is designed so that it is lightly doped, and the PN junction is reverse biased. This reverse bias causes the diode to become slightly starved of holes and electrons, which in turn causes the Zener voltage. The Zener voltage is the voltage at which the current in the diode starts to exponentially increase. This increase in current is known as the Zener breakdown.Features and Benefits
