Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors have been widely used in the modern day and become utilitarian items, especially with the rise of consumer electronics. From toys to modern day appliances like washer and microwave, almost every electronic device has one or more electrolytic capacitors built into its operating system. The 380LX221M500A042 Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor is one such product from the family.

This aluminum electrolytic capacitor possesses two terminals − one positive and one negative, held inside metalized polyester film. Its anode is made up of aluminum foil, where the oxide-coated surface is treated as an insulation barrier for ion flow. Its cathode is made up of etched metal-plated onto a metal disc for contact. The capacitor’s dielectric is made up of an electrolyte − mostly composed of boric acid. Additionally, this particular capacitor is also ‘Low Leakage’ due its hermetically sealed and totally unidirectional nature.
