Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors
Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are widely used across many industries and applications, and are developed for their ability to store electric charge. They are composed of two aluminum foils as electrodes, which are covered with an electrolytic paper, and these aluminum foils are folded into a package, and wound around an anode, and enclosed within a hermetically sealed container. This package is designed to prevent outside interference, and also to limit the movement of current between the anode and the cathode.
The 381EL471M200K022 is an aluminum electrolytic capacitor with an operating voltage of 200V and a capacitance of 470µF. It is a non-polar capacitor with an impedance of 22mΩ. This capacitor is suitable for applications where a high capacitance is needed, such as in power supplies and in filtering, power supplies, and rectifiers.
Working Principle
The operation of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor starts with applying a voltage to the two electrodes which are separated by electrolytic paper. In doing so, electrons will flow from the anode to the cathode. During this process, ions from the electrolyte material will also be extracted and fill the space between the two plates. This creates an electric field across the plates which, combined with the movement of ions, forms a layer called a dielectric oxides.
This dielectric oxides layer increases the capacitance of the capacitor, since it acts as an insulator and prevents electric current from passing freely through the capacitor. As the voltage increases, more ions will be attracted to the capacitor, and the dielectric oxide layer will grow thicker, further increasing the capacitance of the capacitor.
In addition, the 381EL471M200K022 capacitor has built-in polyester film, designed to improve the contact between the electrodes, and to reduce contact resistance.
Applications
The 381EL471M200K022 is suitable for a wide range of applications, including power supplies, filtering, rectification, and various electronics, including amplifier circuits, and signal processing. It is also suitable for use in UPS systems, Security camera systems, computers, as the low ESR makes it less susceptible to changes in temperature and load.
Due to its exceptional capacitance, this capacitor is also ideal for applications where a large amount of energy is required in a short period of time. This includes the motor industry, in which electric motors are used to drive heavy-duty vehicles such as buses and automobiles. Another application of this capacitor is in medical equipment, in which it is used to power essential systems, such as x-ray machines.
Conclusion
The 381EL471M200K022 aluminum electrolytic capacitor is designed for applications requiring a high capacitance, and is suitable for many applications, such as power supplies, filtering and rectification. It has a low Equivalent Series Resistance, which makes it reliable and efficient, and ideal for applications in the motor industry, medical equipment, security camera systems, and computers.
