Working Principle

The 383LX223M035N042 is an electrochemical capacitor, consisting of two layers of electrochemically etched aluminum foil that are separated by a layer of electrolyte. At any given voltage, the inverse of the capacitance is proportional to the thickness of the electrolyte layer.

When a voltage is applied across the capacitor, it creates an electric field between the two aluminum layers.
