This capacitor is a Non-Polarized, Axial Leaded, and Polarized multi-layer structure design.

The working principle of the 477TMA100M capacitor is based on Faraday’s Law. The anode and cathode of the aluminum electrolytic capacitor act as oppositely charged plates. These plates take in charges of opposite polarities, thereby creating an electric field between them. The electric field causes electrons to flow between the anode and cathode, charging up the capacitor, creating heat and other electrical changes.

The 477TMA100M aluminum electrolytic capacitor consists of two terminals, with a metalized anode and cathode. A thin oxide layer is formed on the metalized surfaces of the anode and cathode in order to act as the dielectric between the two. The electrolyte serves both as a conductive medium between the terminals and as a protective layer for the oxide layer.
