4N35-360E application field and working principle

The 4N35-360E is a type of optoisolator, also known as an optocoupler, photocoupler, optical isolator, and opto-isolator, which is designed to isolate two circuits electrically and transduce a signal from one to the other. It consists of a light-emitting diode (LED) which is optically coupler with a phototransistor. Specifically, it is a transistor, photovoltaic output optoisolator, with a built in protection diode allowing the device to continuously conduct up to a maximum rating of 500V.
