AECs have high electrical capacity and long life cycle, and are available in sizes from very small to giant polarised units. The 500D336M450LS2A Capacitor is a type of aluminum electrolytic capacitor with high voltage and long life cycle.

The 500D336M450LS2A Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor is designed for a wide range of applications that require high voltage and long life cycle. The 500D336M450LS2A Capacitor is composed of three parts: a cylindrical anode, a cathode disc opposite the anode, and an electrolyte between them. The anode is made of thousands of thin anodic metal foils, which may or may not be impregnated with an epoxy resin. All three elements are encapsulated in a hermetically sealed metal case. An external sleeve encloses the entire assembly.

The working principle of the 500D336M450LS2A Capacitor is based on the electrolytic precipitation of aluminium oxide on the surface of the anode. Under the influence of an applied potential, a current flows from the anode to the cathode, while athin layer of aluminium oxide is formed on the surface of the anode. The thickness of this layer is dependent onthe applied voltage, and directly proportional to the capacitance of the capacitor.
