Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

An aluminum electrolytic capacitor, or simply electrolytic capacitor, is a wet type capacitor with a large capacitance in a small volume. It is made with two aluminum foils, one is coated with an insulating oxide layer, separated by a paper or plastic film soaked in electrolyte. The foils form the electrodes of the capacitor and the electrolyte acts as the dielectric.
