The 74F191PC is a programmable counter/divider and flip-flop chip. It is a member of the 74F191XXX family of high-speed, programmable counter/dividers. As a member of this family, it is well-suited for applications requiring high-speed binary division, product terms coding, or frequency division and timing generation.The basic function of the chip is to count pulses from a high-frequency source. The result of any high-speed counting operation is presented in a 16-bit synchronous parallel output. The 74F191PC also has a unique reset feature that allows the counter to be reset without regard to the count state.The chip is composed of a 16-bit counter, a 16-bit programmable-width register and flip-flop array.
