74F675ASC is a logic shift register, designed and developed by Fairchild Semiconductor. Logic shift registers fall under the family of digital integrated circuits (IC) used mostly for data manipulation tasks, such as data storage and telecommunication. A shift register is a clocked storage device which stores and retrieves data serially when triggered by an active clock signal. The 74F675ASC is an 8-bit type shift register which has a parallel data input and outputs in serial data format.The main application field of the 74F675ASC logic shift register is to convert parallel data into serial data format and vice versa. They are also used for shifting binary data from one bit time position to the other. It can be used for general purpose data storage and code conversion. The shift register also finds its application in increasing port data rate, in arithmetic/logic operations and in conversion of serial protocols.The 74F675ASC logic shift register is a 8-bit type shift register which has two data inputs, a serial input and a serial output. The data is loaded into the register by applying an active low signal to the serial input and strobing a clock signal. The data is then shifted out of the register when the Clock signal is strobed. As the clock signal is applied, the data is shifted out of the register. This data is shifted out one bit at a time until all the data bits have been shifted from the register.
