The 74FST3384DTR2 is a low power dual 4-to-1 data selector/multiplexer device that enables the selection of one of two sets of four data inputs to be routed to a common output. The 74FST3384DTR2 consists of two 4-to-1 multiplexers arranged in two banks. The 74FST3384D/DTR2 multiplexers feature a 3.3-V power supply and are pin-compatible with the industry-standard 74FST3384, enabling designers to upgrade existing systems from 5 V to a low-voltage design without disturbing the application (FIGURE 1). The 74FST3384DTR2 multiplexers are a good choice for system designs operating at 3.3 V.
The 74FST3384DTR2 is suited for use in a wide range of applications. The device is ideal for data communications, audio and video distribution and multiplexing, memory and data buffer management, as well as other digital signal conditioning applications. The multiplexer has a high impedance state on the output when all control inputs are placed in high impedance (Z) state. This enables the output to remain in a tri-state situation while the device is enabled. The multiplexer can be used in smaller mobile devices, as it only consumes 0.9mA (max).
