An aluminum electrolytic capacitor is a type of electrochemical capacitor with an anode made of a pure aluminum foil with an etched surface. The aluminum layer functions as the electrode and is etched to increase the electrode surface area and improve its capacitance. An electrolyte, usually an organic solvent, covers the surface of the aluminum layer to form a thin dielectric layer.

The 860020375018 model Aluminum electrolytic capacitor is designed to be used in signal filtering, pulse shaping and noise reduction applications. The device is capable of maintaining a stable capacitance in a wide temperature range and has a low impedance profile which helps in protecting the circuit from EMI and RFI interference. This cap also come with a higher ripple current rating, making them ideal for higher power applications.
The 860020375018 electrochemical capacitor works by using the electrochemical reactions of aluminum and electrolyte to store electrical energy in the form of a static charge. When electricity is applied to the device, positive and negative ions pass through the layers of aluminum and electrolyte to form a polarized electric field which stores the electrical energy and keeps it in an accumulative state.
When a voltage is applied to the device, current circulates through the electrolyte thereby producing an opposite reaction which further contributes to the storage of energy inside the device. During this process, the capacitance is reduced due to external factors such as temperature and frequency which affects the ions present in the electrolyte.
For this reason, aluminum electrolytic capacitors are widely used in circuits where fast response and high capacitance is needed. They are also used in power supply circuits, audio and video filter applications, peak power applications, and applications that require rapid capacitance build up.
