The 93C86CT-I/MC is a white-label (non-manufacturer specific) serial presence detect (SPD) EEPROM. This EEPROM is integrated into the memory module to manually store settings and the memory module’s identifying information. The 93C86CT-I/MC is static RAM with a 16-bit address bus and 256-word organization. It stores a 128-word parameter table that is used to define and detect the memory module’s chip densities, type, and other system settings.

The 93C86CT-I/MC uses a three-wire serial interface protocol for communication, which features clock plus two data I/O pins. It is compatible with System Management Mode (SMM) and 60-pin dual in-line memory module (DIMM) signals. The device has two memory regions protected by an asynchronous hardware set/reset (H UART).
