The ProASIC3/E devices offer embedded FPGA solutions with added embedded nonvolatile memory for storage or to execute soft micro-controllers or other embedded applications. The devices feature low power, high performance, and radiation-hardened versions for space applications.The A3PE600-1FG256I has 10,000 logic elements with embedded nonvolatile memory for storage or for executing soft micro-controllers or other embedded applications. It features 2-bit flash memory, with a maximum 6,000 Erase/Write cycles, and can store up to 12,404 words of code or data. Its internal SRAMs have dedicated 18Kbit I-Cache, which can store up to 4,096 instructions. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C and a maximum clock frequency of 400MHz.The A3PE600-1FG256I\'s TTL logic supports synchronous and asynchronous operation and provides low-skew signaling shifting, enabling high-speed operation. This device uses a unique reconfigurable internal interconnect to provide rapid reconfigurability and the best real-time response in the market. It provides a variety of built-in features, such as 16-bit memory bus line system, 256-bit flash ROM, and APEX-FGL embedded microcontroller with 12 interrupt sources.The A3PE600-1FG256I is designed with all the benefits of a programmable device, including low power and low cost. Its low power consumption allows designers to reduce system power consumption, size, and cost. Moreover, it simplifies the design phase, resulting in a faster time to market.The A3PE600-1FG256I offers a wide range of reconfigurable I/O, including analog-to-digital conversion, digital-to-analog conversion, PWM, UART, SPI, I2C, I2S, and USB 2.0. It also has a proprietary interconnect architecture, which enables designers to reliably connect large numbers of flip-flops together for large and complex designs. This proprietary architecture can also support multilevel hierarchical designs.The A3PE600-1FG256I has a scalable System Management Bus (SMBus) for comprehensive control and debugging. An optional debugging module can also be integrated as part of the FPGA, enabling full remote debugging support. Additionally, this FPGA supports die-to-die interfaces to ensure quick communications between two devices.The A3PE600-1FG256I is proven in applications ranging from entry-level ASICs and reference designs to sophisticated RT Labs and telecommunications. It is well suited for applications such as voice over IP (VoIP) gateways, industrial controllers, digital security systems, and more.
