Structure of ACZRM5245B-HF

ACZRM5245B-HF consists of two parts. One is a PN junction which is formed by a lightly doped N-type semiconductor material and a heavily doped P-type material. The other is an anode, which is anode of the diode, and a cathode, which is cathode of the diode. PN junction is mainly responsible for conducting an electric current, and anode and cathode mainly assure the current flows in only one direction by connecting the PN junction to the power that needs to be regulated.

Working Principle of ACZRM5245B-HF

The working principle of ACZRM5245B-HF can be divided into three modes: Forward bias mode, Reverse bias mode and Zener breakdown.

When forward biased, the anode of the diode is connected to a positive voltage source and the cathode is connected to the negative voltage source, which allows the current to flow in the PN junction. Zener breakdown is a special type of reverse bias conduction. When the reverse biased voltage reaches the threshold point, the electrons and the holes in PN junction will be separated, leaving one part filled with electrons, and the other part with holes. Therefore, electrons can easily pass through the depleted region, and this process is known as Zener breakdown.
