The AD604-EVALZ evaluation board is designed to provide an evaluation platform for the AD604 high performance operational amplifiers (Op Amps). This board facilitates easy connection to the OPA. It has an integrated 8-pin DIP socket; both the 0 V and the supply voltages are preset to +5 V and -5 V respectively.The AD604-EVALZ is an ideal evaluation tool for the AD604 Op Amp family. It provides a receptacle for a 0.3” leaded 8-pin DIP packaged version of the AD604 family of amplifiers and offers a wide range of features. Its on-board precision resistors are matched to the accuracy of the nominal gains of the AD604 family, and its short circuit protected, low power, precision power supply allows easy prototyping and system evaluation performance.
The evaluation board can be used to characterize the performance of the AD604 Op Amp to the system level. With the on-board test points, differential and single ended connections, the user can quickly evaluate, compare, and verify the performance of the AD604 without the need for expensive equipment. It is suitable for many applications such as general purpose amplifiers, filters, sample and hold amplifiers, and active transimpedance circuits.
The AD604-EVALZ evaluation board has been designed to ensure reliable operation. It is provided with test points to enable monitoring of key parameters such as frequency response, output power, distortion and voltage offset. It also features an adjustable current limit switch for protection from excessive current draw in the case of overload. The board is also provided with an adjustable quiescent current setting to adapt to changes in Op Amp characteristics. Additionally, the AD604-EVALZ has an eraseable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) to store custom parameters for evaluation of specific applications.
The AD604-EVALZ is suitable for educational applications, as its large solderless breadboard offers ample space for circuit experimentation. It also provides the user the freedom to try out different settings, configurations and components as one would do on a breadboard, but on a much larger scale. The on-board components are matched in impedance to suit many applications, making it a useful addition to any engineering design lab.
