Data Acquisition - Analog to Digital Converters (ADC) are widely used in both industrial and consumer applications from telecommunications to home audio applications. The AD7685BRMZ is a high precision 16-bit, successive parallel converter optimized for single supply operation. This versatile ADC can handle input ranges from 0-5V to ±15V. With an operating power supply range of 2.7V-5.25V and a SPI interface, AD7685BRMZ is suitable for many microcontroller-based systems.

In general, ADC converter is an intermediate hardware converter device that converts an analog signal (which is a continuously variable signal) typically measured in the form of voltage, into digital values that can be sent over the bus to a processor.
